Can dream of becoming PM, not President: Mayawati hits back at Samajwadi Party

| @indiablooms | Apr 28, 2022, at 08:18 pm

Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Chief Minister Mayawati on Thursday hit back at the Samajwadi Party after she was accused of dreaming to become India's President with BJP support.

In a statement here, Mayawati said, "I can dream of becoming the Prime Minister of the country but I am not dreaming of becoming the President."

Mayawati held the Samajwadi Party responsible for the formation of a Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh again.

The BSP chief said the weak performance of the Samajwadi Party was solely responsible for the return of the BJP to power in Uttar Pradesh.

She said the 2022 assembly elections were given a Hindu-Muslim colour by the SP which led to its drubbing.

She also alleged that Akhilesh Yadav was responsible for the poor condition of Muslims in the state.

"Both (SP and BJP) have given a Hindu-Muslim color to this election. Due to this move of the Samajwadi Party, the BJP has again come to power here. Now even the Samajwadi Party has come to know about its trick.

"The BJP got power only due to the weak performance of the Samajwadi Party," she alleged.

The BSP President also mentioned the power crisis in the state. She said the shortage of electricity in the month of Ramzan was causing problems to Muslims.
