Budget Session of Parliament begins today
New Delhi, Jan 29 (IBNS): The crucial Budget Session of the Parliament will begin from Monday.
This will be the last full fledged budget- to be presented by the government- before 2019 General Elections.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is all set to present the budget on Feb 1.
The government will be aiming to push several key bills during this session of the Parliament.
The opposition has already started targeting the government over the issue of job creation.
On Sunday, former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent remarks on 'pakoda and jobs creation'.
Chidambaram on Sunday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent remarks whether a person earning Rs. 200 a day selling "pakodas" can be considered unemployed and said even begging then could be called as a 'job'.
Joining the debate over job creation, Chidambaram attacked the Centre and said the government is clueless about how to create jobs.
"Even selling pakodas is a 'job' said PM. By that logic, even begging is a job. Let's count poor or disabled persons who are forced to beg for a living as 'employed' people," Chidambaram tweeted, attacking the PM and his remark during a television interview recently.
Targeting the Modi-led government over job creation, the Congress leader tweeted: "Real job creation will be reflected by robust increase in private investment, private consumption, exports and credit demand. Not happening yet."
He said: "The truth is India is witnessing a three year spell of modest, but jobless, growth and the government is clueless about how to create jobs."
Chidambaram had served as the Finance Minister during the UPA regime.
