BSF weapons snatched at Satkhira Border in Bangladesh

Due to this incident, all kinds of import-export activities were stopped for 8 hours continuously from 8 am to 1 pm through Bhomra land port of Satkhira on May 10.

According to local sources, some smugglers snatched BSF weapons while traveling through Bhomra land port in Satkhira.

In this regard, the Assistant Commissioner of Bhomra Land Port Amir Al Mamun said that the import-export activities of the port have started from 1 pm after all kinds of import-export activities have been stopped since morning.

As BSF closed the gate of Indian Ghojadanga border opposite Bhomra port, no cargo truck could enter the port from morning till 1 pm.

They said they had lost their weapons.

They stopped all activities till 1 pm to rescue it.

He said there are still hundreds of cargo trucks on Indian shores waiting to enter Bangladesh.

Two to two-and-a-half crore taka of revenue is collected in Bhomra port every day.

If the import-export activities were not normal, the government would have lost revenue of Tk 2.5 crore daily.

Satkhira 33 BGB captain Lt Colonel Al Mahmoud said the BSF claimed that one of their female force weapons was missing.

"Such information was given to us. Currently, BSF is conducting search operation at their border.

"We have been asked to carry out the operation here. They may have information that some people have gone there from Bangladesh. However, he did not give us the information. "We are trying to recover the weapon in our border area," he said, adding that there was no evidence that the weapon was taken by Bangladeshis.

He further said that due to a minor incident between an Indian truck driver and a Bangladeshi truck driver (centered on car parking), the import-export activities of both the countries have been suspended till 1 pm and it has become normal again. However, the weapon has not been recovered yet.
