BSF seizes silver granules

New Delhi, June 2 (IBNS) Border Security Force (BSF) troops positioned on the South Bengal Frontier on Thursday seized silver granules, weighing about 9.7 KGs, having a market value of approximately Rs. 4,02,200.

The seizure was made in a special operation in the border area of Halderpara outpost under Krishnaganj police station in Nadia district from some miscreants. They managed to flee leaving behind nine plastic packets containing the precious metal when challenged by the BSF troops.

"The seized items have been handed over to the Customs authorities at Banpur, Nadia for further legal action, informed Shri R P S Jaswal, BSF DIG of the South Bengal Frontier," read an official statement.

With this, the BSF South Bengal Frontier has seized 51.045 KGs of Silver valued at Rs.14,99,989 during the current year.
