New Delhi, Oct 2 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, which is a complex dedicated to overseas, and said that "brain drain" can be converted to "brain gain" with Indian community all over the world becoming a strength.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, "Indian community all over the world is a strength that can convert brain drain to brain gain."

He said that "we must not view our diaspora in terms of 'Sankhya' (number) but should see them as 'Shakti' (power)."

The Prime Minister emphasized the role that Indian diaspora could play in furthering India's engagement with the world.

"Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra shows what it means to be Indian, the meaning of association with India," PM Modi said.

"World's keenness to engage with India has risen. Our diaspora can play a vital role in furthering India's engagement with the world." he said.

The PM said, "In the last two years, our Government has rescued people from conflict situations, not just Indians but also foreigners."

Modi also felicitated the winners of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' quiz competition.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was also present at the occasion.
