BJP National Executive meeting begins in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 3 (IBNS) The National Executive meeting of the Bharaitya Janata Party began here on Friday with the party dropping the hint of a possible reshuffle of the Cabinet and declaring to enroll at least 10 crore members.

Reports said  new faces are likely to be brought in replacing at least two ministers from the cabinet.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Manoj Singa are most likely persons to be be elevated from their current position as Minister of State to cabinet posts while PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, Shiv Sena's Anil Desai and former Bihar minister Ashwini Cahubey may become new ministers.

Speaking at the meeting, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said because of the heavy membership drive BJP has become world's largest party and the party thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah, veteranleader L K  Advani and  Arun Jaitley for it.

"Our goal is to cross the 10 crore member-mark. We are planning to expand to areas where we were not so popular," he said claining that the Modi govt will be in power for the next 10-20 years.

"Our national leadership is not based on hereditary principles. PM Modi wants BJP leaders to engage in activities outside the domain of politics also. 'Beti bachao, Beti padhao' campaign is also something BJP will focus on. These non-political activities will show that BJP is different from other parties," Javadekar sai.

 

Meanwhile, Congress staging protests outside the National Executive meet venue and top leaders criticised the BJP government for hollow promises.
