BJP mocks Rahul Gandhi over 'theme kya he video' ahead of his Telangana farmers' rally

New Delhi: A video showing Rahul Gandhi asking party workers about the theme of a public rally in Telangana, which he was going to address the next day, and later the same video being tweeted by the national convener of the IT cell of the BJP has triggered a fresh controversy between the two bitter political rivals.

In the 17-second long video clip, Rahul Gandhi is seen sitting alongside Congress party workers and asking about the theme of the rally and what he should speak about in his speech.

"What is the main theme today. Kya theme kya hai, exactly kya bolna hai (What is to be said)."

"Ye off kariye, please (Please shut this thing)," Gandhi is heard telling off a person as the video ends.

"Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi before his rally in Telangana, supposedly in solidarity with farmers, asks what is the theme," Amit Malviya posted on Twitter today.

"This is what happens when you do politics in between personal foreign trips and nightclubbing...Such exaggerated sense of entitlement," he added.

However, Congress has dismissed the Malviya's comments, saying he was immature and was just giving cover fire to Telangana Chief Minister KCR.

"Kya jawab doon (What should I say). Amit Malviya is immature, he thinks the nation is immature. Why doesn't he admit that he is giving cover fire to KCR?" said Pawan Khera, Congress leader, in Rahul Gandhi's defence.

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi too criticised the Congress leader.

"When you don't know what message you want to convey to the people to Telangana why would they support you? Your mind is empty. What message will you give and how will you fight TRS. Congress has been wiped out in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). It's good that you have come, keep visiting," said Owaisi.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a 'Rythu Sangharshana Sabha (a farmers' rally) in Telangana on Friday.

He said Congress will waive farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakhs as soon as comes to power in the state and farmers will get the right MSP (minimum support price) for crops.

Gandhi said that Congress will not ally with Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the next assembly polls will be a direct fight between Congress and the KCR-led party.
