BJP lashes out at Azam Khan for his 'Bajrang Ali' remarks

New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) The BJP on Saturday lashed out at Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for trying to spread the name 'Bajrang Ali' and said such an attempt nakedly displays disrespect to both Hinduism and Islam.

"What kind of language is this....Today is Ram Navami and an occasion to greet each other. Azam Khan has used the name 'Bajrang Ali'. This shows Azam Khan wants to create communal tension in the country," BJP leader and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters here.

He said Muslim organisations like Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind should take cognizance of the statement of Azam Khan and speak out against it.
"They speak on every issue, but why they are silent on Azam Khan's statement. He is putting Bajrang name in from Hazrat Ali and also suffixing Ali for Bajrang Bali. This is an insult to both the religions," he said.

The BJP leader said such statements from opposition leaders will be countered strongly by the people themselves. "In the first phase of polling itself, it has been clear that the BJP has done well. In the first phase of polls (April 11) one thing is certain there is a strong favourable mood in favour of Narendra Modi," he claimed.

Hussain said the first phase of polling has shown that people are staying away from meeting Samajwadi and Congress workers on the polling day.
"Now, do we send people to their tables (of polling agents)," he remarked.
"People have made up their mind to make Narendra Modi the country's Prime Minister yet again," he said adding the BJP is getting support from all sections of people.

Hussain also said that most personal attack against Prime Minister Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah are being made by various opposition leaders, are all coming at the "behest of Congress president Rahul Gandhi".
But, he claimed, "all answers to these personal attack will be given by the people in the form of votes during elections".

He said Congress is simply banking on the rhetoric based on falsehood and an attempt to create confusion.

In this respect, he pointed out the BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi has already moved the Supreme Court with a prayer to move contempt of court proceeding against Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Rafale.
