BJP govt will leave no stone unturned to fulfill aspirations of people|: Narendra Modi tells people in Udupi

Targeting the ruling Congress party in the state, Modi said itr never though about the welfare of people.

Speaking on the banking system and the contribution the BJP-led government has made over the years in it, he said: "We opened bank accounts for the poor. Over 31 crores accounts have been opened under Jan Dhan Yojana."

"If the Congress had ensured their bank accounts, the poor would have contributed so much to the economy. But sadly, Congress never thought about their welfare," he said.

He said the Congress should answer for the 'increasing crime' in Karnataka.

He said: "One one hand, we are talking about enhancing Ease of Doing Business in the country, but Congress believes in 'Ease of Doing Murder'. This is the culture they have developed."

Congress promotes intolerance and violence, Modi said.

Modi is busy campaigning in Karnataka on Tuesday.

Polling is scheduled to be held in the state on May 12. The counting of votes will take place on May 15.

Karnataka is one of the last few strong holds of the Congress.

The Karnataka poll has virtually turned out to be a battle between present and former Chief Ministers, Siddaramaiah and Yeddyurappa respectively.

Yeddyurappa is the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) Chief Ministerial candidate in the poll.

The BJP is eyeing on to return to power in the state.
