Bihar official taking bribe in a cigarette packet arrested

Patna, Dec 29 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Vigilance sleuths in Bihar arrested an official who was taking the bribe money concealed inside a cigarette packet.

The Block Education Officer Indrajeet Rana was arrested from Nawada district on Wednesday evening while he was receiving Rs 8,000 bribe concealed inside a cigarette packet to avoid being noticed.

The arrested official had sought the bribe from a teacher in lieu of releasing funds for constructing the school building.

Soon after arrest the official, the vigilance sleuths raided his residence and recovered Rs 368,000 in cash.

As per an official report, more than 100 government officials have been arrested on the charges of taking bribe since January this year.
