Patna, Mar 30 (IBNS): In a historic resolution, 243 state legislators in Bihar on Wednesday formally declared that they will stay away from alcohol.
Following the resolution state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "It's a historic day. It's a clear message that everyone is dedicated to making prohibition work."

A new law will be in force from Friday which will provide a maximum sentence of the death penalty for those who are found making or selling home-made liquor that kills consumers.

If someone is left seriously sick, a life sentence could apply for those who made or traded the toxic alcohol.
