Bengali actress Locket Chatterjee joins BJP

Kolkata, Feb 5 (IBNS): Bengali films popular actress Locket Chatterjee on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after quitting West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress Party (TMC).

She said she wants to protest against a lot of things and hence decided to quit TMC.

"There were lots of things which I wanted to protest. It was not easy to protest remaining in the party [TMC]. So I decided to come out and protest," Chatterjee said during a press conference in the presence of BJP state president Rahul Sinha.

The actress said she is not a corrupt.

"We are not corrupt," said she.

Locket Chatterjee is a popular actress in the Tollywood industry. She has been seen in most of the TMC functions.

Chatterjee was also a member of the state's women commission.
