Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff visits Eastern Command

Kolkata, Sept 11 (IBNS) General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Army along with a delegation visited Headquarters Eastern Command at Fort William in Kolkata on Thursday.

He interacted with the Eastern Army Commander, Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi and discussed defence cooperation issues.

The Bangladesh Army Chief also visited Viswa Bharati University at Shantiniketan along with his wife and witnessed a cultural programme by students of the University.

He was gifted with a portrait of Guru Rabindranath and a copy of his famous work ‘Gitanjali’ by the Vice Chancellor, Dr Sushanta Dattagupta.
