Bangalore molestation case: We are evolving backwards, says Akshay Kumar

| | Jan 05, 2017, at 11:01 pm
Mumbai, Jan 5 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is the latest celebrity to join the bandwagon to protest against the mass molestation incident in Bangalore on New Year's Eve, slamming it as 'truly shameful'.

Akshay tweeted, "The Bangalore incident makes me feel we r evolving backwards, from humans to animals, rather beasts coz even animals are better!Truly shameful."

He also shared a video and said, "I am ashamed to call myself a human being today. I was returning from my New Year's vacation in Cape Town with my four-year-old daughter in my arms when I saw a news clip about the molestation incident in Bangalore. I don't know how did you all feel about it, but by God my blood started boiling. I am a daughter's father but even if I was not one, I feel if a society cannot respect its women, it doesn't deserve to be called a humane society."

"The worst part is that some people have the guts to justify such an horrific incident such as molestation," he added.

"Why did the girl wear such skimpy clothes? Why did she leave the house at such a late hour? Stop asking such questions and be ashamed. The clothes isn't the problem, your mentality, which is shallow, is," the hit-maker said.

"The people causing such harassment aren't from any other planet, they live among us."

Sounding alert, Akshay said, "There's still time, so change your habits. The day the girls will strike back, you'll learn your lessons."

Several celebrities have been vocal following the incident which shocked India.
