At least seven children among eight killed as school van collides with tourist bus in MP

Bhopal, Nov 22 (IBNS) : At least seven children and the driver were killed and half a dozen  other students injured critically, when a private school van collided with a tourist bus in  Satna district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning, media reports said.

According to reports, the mishap took place in Virshinghpur area   at around 9.30 am under Sabhapur police station.

The tourist bus was going to Chitrakoot from Rewa. The school van was carrying around 14 children.

The reports quoted the police as saying that seven school children and the van driver were killed instantly on the spot, while other students on board the van were hurt critically.

All the children are  aged between 7 and 14 years. Most of the critically injured children have been rushed to Satna district hospital, around 40 km from accident site.

Following the incident, angry  local residents staged a protest at the spot due to which local administrative officials are finding it difficult to reach the accident spot.
