Assam Police start survey of Char areas

| | Jan 06, 2017, at 12:46 am
Guwahati, Jan 5 (IBNS): Survey in the 829 villages at Char areas of the state have started after the direction of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

The river patrolling system has also been bolstered with modern technology in the char areas after the Chief Minister’s firm stance towards stopping illegal migration and security threats from across the border.

In view of the highest priority placed by the state and the central government on the border security, survey and patrolling at the char and the border areas have been intensified by Assam Police following the strict direction of the Chief Minister.

Along with the survey of the char areas, Assam Police have reinforced river patrolling at all vulnerable areas.

The survey carried out by Assam Police in the chars would benefit the people residing at these areas specially during the time of flood, erosion and other such natural calamities as relief operations would efficiently reach the affected people.

Moreover, people of these places would be adequately sensitised for thwarting any activity of anti-national elements that might try to set up base there.

The survey would ensure that the youth of these areas do not fall prey to the evil designs of anti-national elements and awareness would be generated against such activities.
