Assam: Man allegedly rapes his daughter-in-law

Guwahati, July 23 (IBNS) : A woman has alleged that her father-in-law raped her several times in past couple of months.

The incident happened at Badala Tiyapara village near Tupamari area under Nagarbera police station in Assam’s Kamrup district.

According to the reports, the accused person named Rabiul Hussain, alias Rabi Shah, allegedly raped his daughter-in-law for past several months.

The victim lodged an FIR against her father-in-law on July 21.

The victim said that she was raped by her father-in-law for several times in absence of her husband.

On Sunday night, locals gheraoed the Tupamari police outpost and demanded to arrest the accused person immediately.

Meanwhile, Nagarbera police have registered a case (no 119/2018) in connection with the incident.

The accused person is still absconding.

“My father-in-law has sexually assaulted me for several times in our home in absence of my husband. Finally I filed complaint against my father-in-law before police. I want justice,” the victim said.

On the other hand, Sushil Dey, Officer-in-Charge, Nagarbera police station said the incident happened at Badala Tiyapara village where a married woman was allegedly raped by her father-in-law.

"After receiving a complaint in this regard on July 21, we had registered a case (no 119/2018). The accused person is still absconding and police investigation is going on," Dey said.
