Assam: Grenade hurled at Union MOS for Railways Rajen Gohain’s residence

Guwahati, Dec 29 (IBNS) : Unidentified miscreants hurled a grenade at the house of Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain in the middle of Assam's Nagaon town on Wednesday night.

Nagaon Superintendent of Police (SP D Upadhaya  said the grenade landed in the lawn of the Gohain’s residence but did not explode.

The top police official said that, two persons came in a Royal Enfield motorcycle around 11-55 pm on Wednesday night and hurled the grenade.

Later, police and an army team had reached the area and recovered the grenade and defused it.

“When the miscreants hurled the grenade no one was present in the house,” the top police official said.

Meanwhile police had launched operation against the miscreants.
