Assam govt transfer 8550 primary teachers in a single day

Guwahati, Feb 21 (IBNS): Eyeing to improve the education sector in Assam, the state government on Wednesday transferred 8550 primary teachers in a single day. 


Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the state government has decided to mutual transfer among the primary teachers on Janu 22 last and it has been completed today.

“We have already released the transfer orders through online. It is the biggest teachers transfer in Assam,” Sarma said.

The Assam education minister further said that, a total of 10,794 teachers across the state had applied online for transfer and after completing all grievances the state education department had finalized 8550 eligible applications

“Among them 3904 teachers have been transferred inter district and 4646 teachers transferred within the district,” Sarma said.

The Assam minister said that, the state government also decided to conduct transfer process in the month of January every year.

Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that, the Gunotsav in high school level will be held in August-September this year.
