Assam govt allocated Rs 3885 crore to sixth scheduled areas

Guwahati, Feb 8 (IBNS): To develop the sixth scheduled areas in the state, Assam government has allocated over Rs 3885 crore to Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Bodoland Territorial District (BTC) in the financial year 2017-18.

The fund has been allocated in the state budget, which was tabled in Assam assembly on Tuesday.

The state budget for next fiscal revealed that, a total of Rs 1208.49 crore has allocated to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), while Rs 492.99 crore to North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) and Rs 2184.22 crore to BTC.

The Assam government has also allocated Rs 31.24 crore to the Hills areas department.

The state government has also allocated Rs 200 crore to BTC, Rs 50 crore to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Rs 20 crore to Dima Hasao district council as one time grant in 2017-18.
