Assam CM Sonowal calls on PM Modi in New Delhi
New Delhi, Jun 11 (IBNS) Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal of Assam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Saturday, according to media reports.
Sonowal led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to a significant victory in Assam during the latest state Assembly elections, a first for the party in any state in north-eastern India.
Images: PIBPrime Minister Modi, while attending Sonowal's swearing-in ceremony had said, "A leader belonging to the tribal community, a leader dedicated to serving society will now be the Chief Minister of Assam," the media had reported.
