Arvind Kejriwal brings back Odd-Even policy to control air pollution in Delhi
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi is set to bring back the Odd-Even policy in November to control the air pollution in the national capital.
The announcement has been made by Kejriwal.
The policy will be active in Delhi between November 4 and November 15.
Speaking about his earlier implementation of the Odd-Even formula, Kejriwal said, "We have taken lessons from the mistakes made during the earlier implementation. We will correct them this time."
Apart from the Odd-Even policy, Kejriwal made several announcements to control pollution.
The government will distribute pollution masks during the time period when crops will be burnt.
Pollution-free Diwali, prevention of local burning, dumping of garbage and violation of construction dust rules, creation of hotspot action plan, dust pollution control, Delhi tree challenge are among the steps which will be undertaken by the Kejriwal government.
Contradicting the environmentalists' view suggesting pollution in Delhi has increased, Kejriwal told media, "You all should ask them for the details." The Chief Minister said air pollution in Delhi has reduced by 25 per cent.
