Army Chief asks troops to carry out intensive ops against Assam terror

Guwahati, Dec 27, (IBNS) : Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Saturday reviewed the situation of Assam after NDFB(S) militants killed at least 80 tribal people in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar district.

The Army Chief directed the officials of the army, central paramilitary forces, sate police and intelligence agency to carry out intensive operation against the terror in Assam.

During his day- long visit to Assam, the  Army Chief reviewed the road map of all out operation which was launched against NDFB(S) responsible for Assam massacre.

He discussed with top security officials at Army Red Horn division Rongia outskirts of Guwahati for the operation against militants.

The Army Chief also reviewed the deployment of 66 army columns in the disturbed areas in the state.

He also took stock the present situation and made an aerial survey in the Indo - Bhutan border.
