Jammu, Oct 1 (IBNS) : Indian Army Chief of Staff General Dalbir Singh arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday to review the security situation along the border following repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

Reports said General Singh will review the situation and operational preparedness along western border, LoC and Kashmir Valley.

He will also meet the soldiers who participated in the surgical strikes on Pakistani terror targets across the  LoC on Wednesday.

General Singh's visit takes place the day Pakistan violated ceasefire for the fourth time since India's surgical strikes, by resorting to heavy shelling at Indian forward posts in Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir.
