Army busts militant hideout in north Kashmir

Srinagar, June 26 (IBNS): The Indian Army on Friday said it had busted a militant hideout in Kupwara district of north Kashmir and recovered a large number of arms and ammunition.
“Based on a specific input from a unit source, a search operation of Rashtriya Rifle unit and TA Battalion  was launched in  the early hours today in general area Halmatpura north of Kupwara, which resulted in recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores," a spokesperson said in a press release.
 
Among the arms and ammunition, one AK 47 Rifle with 4 Magazines, 523 Rounds of AK 47, one UBGL with 8 Grenades, one AK 47 Silencer, one  RPG, 3 RPG Bombs and 8 RPG Boosters were recovered from the hideout, statement reads.
 
Also seized 312 Rounds of 7.62 Pikka Machine Gun, two RDX, 7 Detonators, four  Chinese Grenades, three  Pistols with five Magazines, one  Binocular and two  Radio sets, the spokesperson said.
