Anil Dave passes away, PM mourns

New Delhi,May 18 (IBNS) Union Environment Minister Anil Dave passed away on Thursday.

He was 60.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the demise of the minister.

Narendra Modi tweeted: "Absolutely shocked by the sudden demise of my friend & a very respected colleague, Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave ji. My condolences."

He said: "Anil Madhav Dave ji will be remembered as a devoted public servant. He was tremendously passionate towards conserving the environment."

Modi called the death of the minister as his 'personal loss'.

"I was with Anil Madhav Dave ji till late last evening, discussing key policy issues. This demise is a personal loss," he said.

Dave is a Rajya Sabha MP representing Madhya Pradesh.

He  took charge as Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Independent Charge) last year.
