Andhra Pradesh : At least eight killed, 30 injured as bus falls off bridge into canal

Vijaywada, Feb 28 (IBNS) : At least eight people were killed and more than 30 injured when a bus fell from a bridge into a canal in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday morning, reports said.

More people are believed to be  trapped inside the ill-fated bus as operation is on to rescue them with the help of gas cutters.

The reports said the injured have been admitted to a Government hospital where the condition of at least ten are stated to be
critical.


The volvo  bus was heading for hyderabad from Bhubaneswar when the accident took place at around 5 30 am.

The driver of the bus was allegedly drowsy and lost control over the steering.
