Prayagraj/IBNS: Union home minister Amit Shah will on Monday take a holy dip at the Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

Shah posted on X, "'Mahakumbh' is a unique symbol of the uninterrupted flow of Sanatan culture.

"Kumbh reflects our eternal philosophy of life based on harmony. Today, I am eager to take a dip in the confluence and seek the blessings of the saints in this great festival of unity and integrity in the holy city of Prayagraj."

The Maha Kumbh began on January 13. It will continue till February 26.

On last Friday and Saturday, over one and a quarter crore devotees bathed at Sangam.

The crowd is expected to swell significantly, with an estimated 10 crore devotees anticipated to take a dip on the day of Mauni Amavasya. To ensure a seamless experience for the devotees, the fair administration and Kumbh police have implemented extensive preparations.

To maintain order and ensure smooth movement, the entire fair area has been declared a no-vehicle zone. Rapid progress is being made to install barricades along the banks of the Sangam to manage the crowd effectively.

Special arrangements have been made across all sectors and zones to facilitate the movement of devotees. No special protocol will be applicable during the Amrit Snan festival to prioritize public convenience.
