Amid standoff, Chinese Army asks for flag meet with India

New Delhi, Sept 23 (IBNS): The Chinese Army on Tuesday asked the Indian side for a flag meeting amid standoff in Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), media reports said.
CNN-IBN quoting sources in the Indian Army reported that their request was under consideration.

This comes after about 1,000 armed Chinese troops had crossed about five kilometre into the Indian territory in Ladakh's Chumur sector last week.

The worst Chinese transgression in years had taken place at a time when neighbouring nation’s President Xi Jinping visited India, the first by a Chinese head of state in eight years.

India also rushed reinforcements to Chumur sector after learning the news of third such intrusion by armed Chinese troops in a little over a week. Soldiers from both the sides were locked in an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation at the border.
