Allahabad, Jun 30 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh police refused to hand over the body of a seven-year old child who was raped and later murdered to her family on Wednesday citing that it would trigger law and order problems, according to media reports.
The girl's father and other relatives were hit by the police when they protested against police cremating the body, reported NDTV.

The girl was raped on June 5 allegedly by a 15-year old neighbour.

The victim's family claimed that the local police initially refused to register a case.

Finally, the suspect was taken into custody on Sunday.

But two days later, he child was dragged out of her house by a group of people, including the alleged rapist's father and stabbed to death, NDTV reported quoting police sources.

The father of the alleged rapist has been arrested, according to local media reports.
