Air Asia woman staffer suffer minor injury in freak accident at airport

Chennai, Aug 12 (UNI) In a freak mishap, a woman employee of Air Asia airlines suffered a minor injury when her hand got struck into the conveyor belt at the airport here on Monday.

Airport sources said the woman, Vennila (35), was employed as loader with the airliner.

She was loading luggages of passengers at the departure area in the domestic terminal when her hand got stuck in the conveyor belt.

However, fellow staff members immediately switched off the conveyor belt and admitted her to the airport hospital for treatment.

Thanks to the alertness of the worker, Vennilla escaped with minor injuries. Airport authorities are investigating the matter.
