Achal Kumar Joti appointed as Election Commissioner
New Delhi, May 8 (IBNS): Achal Kumar Joti has been appointed as the new Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India.
He had earlier served as the former Gujarat Chief Secretary.
His tenure will begin from the day he assumes charge as EC.
"The President has appointed Shri Achal Kumar Joti, IAS (GJ:75) as Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India with effect from the date he assumes the office," read a statement issued by the government on Friday.
