Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is aggressively campaigning against Prime Minister Narendra Modi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in poll-bound Gujarat, willon Friday announce its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming state elections "through public opinion".

"Tomorrow, AAP will announce the CM candidate for the upcoming assembly elections through public opinion," Kejriwal said.

Last week, Kejriwal had launched a campaign to choose the AAP face for the state elections which will be held early December.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced Gujarat, which is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi's homestate, will go to polling in two phases on Dec 1 and Dec 5.

The results will be declared on Dec 8.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face a reelection in both the states.

The battle for Gujarat is set to be three-cornered as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is aggressively campaigning to oust the BJP, which is ruling the state for nearly three decades.

The Congress, which was close to a win in the 2017 assembly elections in the western state, is also fighting for its relevance.
