39 petrol bombs recover from Meghalaya’s jungle area

Guwahati, July 27 (IBNS): Meghalaya Police on Wednesday evening recovered 39 petrol bombs from a jungle area in Mawlai Mawtawar, officials said on Thursday.

Following a tip-off, a troop of Meghalaya police launched operation at the thick jungle area at Thapbalieh near VIP road and recovered the bombs.

“39 petrol bombs hidden inside the jungle were recovered during the raid,” a top police official said.

A case has been registered and investigation started to nab the culprits who made the bombs.

In the ongoing protest against a railway project in Ri-Bhoi, bordering district with Assam, protesters attacked government offices, vehicles, shops by using petrol bombs.
