3 held with huge ammunition, FICN near Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 26 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, police on Friday night apprehended three men and recovered a huge cache of ammunition from their possessions near Kolkata, reports said on Saturday.

According to reports, police intercepted two bikers at Ghasiara area under Sonarpur Police Station limits in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district and seized as many as 100 rounds of bullets of 7 mm pistol, FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) worth 25,000 INR and 20,600 INR from their possessions.

"We arrested Jayanta Sapui, who is a notorious criminal of Champahati area under Baruipur Police Station limits in South 24 Parganas district, and another anti-social of Kolkata's Tangra area- Pradip Mondal- from Ghasiara area," a senior official of South 24 Parganas district police told IBNS.

After interrogating the duo, police booked another man- Biswajit Naskar- from Ghutiari Sharif area and recovered one single-shot pistol and two rounds of bullets from his possession.

However, they were produced in Baruipur Court on Saturday and sent to police custody.
