22 killed in Jammu road accident

Srinagar, Oct 20 (IBNS): At least 22 people were killed and 40 others injured after an passenger bus skidded off the road near Gurnak area of the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening, officials said.

Reports said the overcrowded passenger bus, was on way to Bakal village from Reasi when it skidded off the road near Gurunak area, resulting in 22 deaths and injuries to 40 others.

“The people who were seriously injured are being airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment,” district official said.

Police said some of the injured persons are in a critical condition.

“The rescue operation is going on and a police team and the district administration is on the spot,” he said.
