183 students return to India from Ukraine today, more coming: Minister
New Delhi/IBNS: As the concerns about evacuating remaining Indian students stranded in war-torn Ukraine are growing given the challenge amid escalated tension, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav on Sunday received 183 Indian students evacuated from the crisis-stricken country.
As part of Operation Ganga, which is India's evacuation mission for its nationals, the Minister said 2,200 Indians are expected to land in India on Sunday.
"Received 183 of our Indian students stranded in Ukraine who returned to the Motherland today.
More than 2,200 Indians are expected to be back home today.
The government is leaving no stone unturned in bringing back its citizens from the conflict zone.

Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Saturday said it has evacuated all Indians from the safe zone of Pisochyn, adding that no stone will be left unturned to ensure the safe evacuation of Indian students stranded in Sumy.
“Pisochyn has been evacuated of all Indian citizens. Mission will continue to remain in touch with them through their journey. Their safety has always been our priority. Be Safe Be Strong,” it said in a tweet.

The Indian Ambassador in Ukraine in his message said that barring the war zones of Kharkiv and Sumy, almost all Indians have been evacuated from the remaining regions of Ukraine and that they will leave no stone unturned to ensure evacuation of Indian students from Sumy.
He said that the Indian mission evacuated more than 10,000 Indian students from Ukraine in the past weeks since the war began.
He also said that despite the shelling and other major adversities, they ensured that food and water was delivered to Pisochyn.
