16 students injured in lightning strike in Odisha

Kendrapara: A lightning strike on Saturday injured 16 students of a state-run school in Odisha's Kendrapara district, media reports said.

The incident occurred when lightning hit the 11 kv power line near Kudanagari Adarsha Vidyalaya in Garadpur block.

The impact of the strike was strong enough to affect students who were inside a room in the school's hostel.

The injured students included two boys and fourteen girls, all of whom were students of classes 6 and 7.

After the incident, the injured students were immediately taken to the community health centre.

According to doctors, who treated the students, all of them are currently out of danger and receiving necessary treatment.
