14 die in Uttarakhand accident

Dehradun/UNI: Fourteen people of a marriage party in Uttarakhand plunged to their deaths after a vehicle carrying them rolled down a deep gorge on Tuesday in Champawat district, police said.

There were 16 passengers when the vehicle dropped into the gorge by the Tanakpur-Champawat National Highway as they were passing the Sukhidhang-Danda Minar road.

Two, including the driver, are in critical condition, the police said.

The passengers were returning from a wedding party that occurred in Kaknai village.

The deceased belonged to Danda and Kathoti villages.
