12 Maoists, 2 security personnel killed as encounter breaks out in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Raipur/IBNS: At least 12 Maoists and two security personnel were killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Sunday, media reports said.

The encounter took place inside a forest in the Indravati National Park area when a security team was conducting an anti-Maoist operation, said reports

Two security personnel also received injuries in the encounter but are out of danger, officials have said.

The Maoists killed in the gunfight are being identified and security forces have recovered arms and explosives from the spot.

A search operation is being performed in the area.

More forces have been rushed to the encounter site, said reports.
