Kolkata, Apr 10 (IBNS): The West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) on Wednesday announced Credit Transfer System for engineering students, set to be implemented after the Lok Sabha elections.

Vice-chancellor of WBUT, Ranjan Bhattacharya, said, "Engineering students will be benefited from this system. Students can change their stream and college in 1st and 2nd years. If they want to take a transfer, they have to apply to a special committee. That committee will decide their transfer."

"This system is very popular in foreign countries. But in India this is the first time," Bhattacharya noted.
