Kolkata, Jan 13 (IBNS): Popular Tollywood actor Koel Mallick released a new series of comic books for children on Thursday at Starmark's South City Mall outlet in Kolkata.

The comic book series titled 'The Awesome Four' was launched by the city-based publishing house BEE Books and leading jewellers PC Chandra Jewellers.

Koel Mallick, who is UNICEF's 'celebrity advocate for girl child' was joined by Joint Managing Director of P. C. Chandra Jewellers, Suvro Chandra and the CEO of BEE Books, Esha Chatterjee for the launch.

Suvro Chandra said that inspired by the comic series, his jewellery house has introduced the 'Awesome Four Special Jewellery Collection' in 22/18 carat gold.

On the sidelines of the event, a quiz contest and a tattoo corner was organised for the little visitors.

The organisers announced that BEE Books will publish two more books, ideated by PC Chandra, this year for the little readers -- 'The Legend of Star Dust' and 'Coming Together'.
