Stars of Tomorrow: Talent hunt for young prodigies, an initiative by Santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya
Kolkata/IBNS: Santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya has initiated a virtual talent hunt program, ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ for budding performers.
The competition is not only open to those engaged in singing and dancing but also to those who play musical instruments.
Said Pandit Bhattacharya, “The pandemic has made life difficult for everyone, including those in performing arts. So I thought why not open up opportunities for earning through virtual platform for young talents. ‘Stars of Tomorrow shall surely unearth great talent which is spread across the country. I hope contestants from across the world join in to showcase and also compete.”
The talent hunt, an initiative of Santoor Ashram has already begun and the first phase will be completed on August 30, 2021.
Those who will be selected from the list for Semi Finals, only their performances will go online.
The lines for the second phase will open from September 5.
The maestro also expressed his gratitude to stalwarts such as Ghazal Samrat Anup Jalota, Mohan Veena creator Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Tabla virtuoso Anindo Chatterjee, and danseuse and social activist Alokananda Ray for joining him in this talent hunt.
“Stars of Tomorrow also has a humanitarian angle as we shall raise funds for thalassaemia victims,” said Pandit Bhattacharya.
