Rice is not an enemy, eat it to remain healthy: Rujuta Diwekar
Kolkata, April 4 (IBNS): Celebrity fitness expert Rujuta Diwekar, while launching her book The PCOD Thyroid Book, on Saturday at the Starmark lifestyle and bookstore here, said eating rice is not linked to gaining weight if one does some compulsory exercise every day.
"While most of us take rice as our enemy and try to eliminate it from our diet chart, it is actually the biggest mistake which we do. We should rather value everything (like rice), that is easily available in local market, instead of chasing after food items, which is difficult to avail and expensive to afford.”
The book was launched by lifestyle chain store Starmark in association with Westland at its South City outlet.
According to author Rujuta Diwekar, the best way to get healthy is to eat more rice, ghee, banana and mango, along with a daily practice of 150 minutes' compulsory exercise per week.
"This would improve our strength, flexibility and stamina. Besides exercise, a compulsory regular walk is also needed, to control our obesity, diabetes and heart related problems," she said.
“Try to focus more on the age old tips given by your grandmother and the farmers who look after the crops, in terms of getting a perfect knowledge of healthy diet. No doctor or dietitian can ever replace their position of knowledge about exact diet maintenance,” she added.
In her work The PCOD Thyroid Book she has narrated that there is no use of blaming on our hormones, rather we should thank our bodies and take charge of ourselves.
