Kolkata, June 22 (IBNS): Food styling, a niche skill, is about presenting food in an attractive manner, especially for advertisements and branding, blogs, websites, menus, etc.

Here is your chance to attend a masterclass in Kolkata to be conducted by food blogger and author Shivesh Bhatia.

Presented by Fabindia, the workshop will be held at the Fabcafe, the all-day dining bistro that takes pride in presenting a regionally inspired traditional Indian cuisine with a modern interpretation.

Bhatia is a 23 year old self taught baker, passionate about baking, styling and photographing his desserts and sharing his recipes on his blog- bakewithshivesh.com

Last year, he released his first book Bake With Shivesh and is currently working on the second book, which is scheduled to release towards the end of this year.

At the workshop, Bhatia plans to talk about the basics of food styling, from creating a mood and telling a story, to choosing props, and different elements that can be incorporated into one's frame to make the food look exquisite.

Participants will be divided into groups and will each be given a dessert or a savory dish to style.

Packed with easy-to-follow styling hacks, this two hour session (priced at Rs. 1500 per head) will allow participants to hone their skill in food styling.

Delectable finger food by Fabcafe will be served to the participants as part of the workshop.

So here is your chance to partake of some of Fabcafe’s best dishes, such as Spinach, Hara Pyaz and Water Chestnut Momos (Wheat free, made with jackfruit flour and root starches, garlic chive dip), Baked Dal Samosa with Chutney Trio (seed laced crust, healthy twist on a classic snack), Mutton Galouti on a Mini Kuttu Bread.

The food styling workshop will be held on June 30, from 3pm to 5pm.
