| | Jul 08, 2016, at 10:48 pm
Mumbai, July 8 (IBNS) Juggernaut Books has published Ringside With Vijender by Rudraneil Sengupta.

The book is exclusively available on the Juggernaut app from 12 p.m on Friday.

As a special offer, readers will be able to download the book for FREE for the next 72 hours.

Ringside With Vijender takes an in-depth look at India’s most famous amateur boxer’s decision to turn pro.

The book is a never-before-seen look at the life of Vijender Singh, India’s only Olympic medallist in boxing, and the difficult steps he has had to take to turn pro. And an answer to the question that has haunted him - did he turn pro to run away from the Olympics?

If Vijender Singh becomes India’s first ever world champion boxer, this is the where the journey began.

Rudraneil Sengupta is the deputy editor of Lounge, the weekly feature magazine of Mint. He spent many hours and days with Vijender in England – backstage, during training – for this book. Rudraneil worked as a sports journalist for TV news channels till 2010.

In 2008, he was awarded the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism for a documentary on river rafting in India (Best Sports Journalist, TV). In 2015 he won the Society of Publishers or Asia (SOPA) award for excellence in reporting on human rights issues for a story he co-wrote with Dhamini Ratnam on gender testing for female athletes.
