EducationUSA hosts U.S. study fair in Kolkata
Kolkata/IBNS: EducationUSA, an official U.S. government organisation, is hosting eight “Study in the U.S.” education fairs across India to guide students on opportunities to study in America.
The Kolkata fair was inaugurated on Wednesday by U.S. Consul General Kathy Giles-Diaz and attended by Elizabeth Lee, Director of the American Center.

Ten well-known U.S. universities joined the event, giving students and parents a chance to meet university representatives face-to-face.
"The U.S. universities really offer unmatched flexibility, academic excellence and innovation," Kathy said while addressing the media.
"A U.S. education can challenge students to achieve their full potential through academic rigour in disciplinary study and participation in cutting-edge research.
"Something that comes out of the U.S. education system is a valuable network of peers, which you can engage with for the rest of your life," she added.
The fairs are aimed at guiding the students who want to study in America, whether for a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD, by giving them clear and trustworthy information about courses, admissions, scholarships, and student life.
Students had the opportunity to meet directly with university staff, EducationUSA advisers, and officials from the U.S. Embassy.

The events featured informative sessions on how to apply, available fields of study, scholarship opportunities, and campus life in the United States. Options ranged from science and engineering to the arts, business, and more.
More than 500 students, accompanied by their parents, registered and attended.
The first fair was held in Chennai on August 9, and the final one will take place in Pune on August 17.
Apart from Kolkata, fairs have already been held in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and New Delhi. Upcoming fairs are scheduled in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Pune.
