London/IBNS: Popular dancer Dona Ganguly and her troupe Dikshamanjari performed a dance-drama based on Rabindranath Tagore's Mayar Khela on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in London.

It was performed at Lord Mountbatten Auditorium of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London.

Dikshamanjari students from UK and India performed in the dance drama.

The artistic director and music director of the project was Dr. Ananda Gupta.

Right now, Dona Ganguly is on a tour of ICCR covering places like Switzerland, London, Dublin, Birmingham. On the initiative of Dakshinayan UK, Mayar Khela was performed in Kolkata and Santiniketan a few months ago.

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, dance performances based on Rabindranath's Mayar Khela and patriotic songs are performed by Diksha Manjari.

Dona Ganguly said, "Notably, through this programme, Dikshamanjari UK students performed dances on stage. It is a matter of pride that we represent our country in different parts of the world through Odissi dance style.

"We get an opportunity to present our country's heritage in front of people from different parts of the world."
