Central Kolkata free library installs marble bust of Rabindranath Tagore

Kolkata/IBNS: Tripura Sankar Sen Shastri Smriti Granthagar, a government sponsored public library in central Kolkata, recently unveiled a marble bust sculpture of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.

Part of their Rabindra Sradhyanjali 1427 programme, it was organised along with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Present at the function were Nadimul Haque (MP, Rajya Sabha), Swarnakamal Saha (MLA), Ashoke Chakraborty (President-Library), Debanjan Deb (Joint Secretary, West Bengal government) among others.

The inauguration was followed by a musical program.

Tripura Sankar Sen Shastri Smriti Granthagar was established in 1975-76 and is open to readers free of cost.

Books related to primary and higher education, competitive exams, etc. are available in English, Bengali and Hindi languages.
