Book Review: Unfinished - A Woman's Tryst with Destiny

Most believe that whatever is there in our destiny will happen no matter what. We cannot change our fate, but we can make the best use of whatever life has given us. This is shown to us by the strong protagonist, Anusha from Kay S’s book, 'Unfinished  - A Woman’s Tryst with Destiny'.

Destiny seems to have always challenged her, but she has never given up till the end.

Anusha, a single mother of forty-five is suffering from breast cancer. She has two children, Shruthi and Arjun, who have fortunately grown up to be two successful individuals in their respective fields.

This story is about Anusha, her life and her endless struggle on one side and her infinite strength and will power on the other. She has proved that if someone has self-confidence and will power, nothing can act as a hurdle on their way.

Many readers, especially women, can find some sort of similarity with Anusha since she is projected as a common Indian woman, who is destined to face several problems throughout her life but her only relief is her two gems, her children.

In the Prologue, the readers will have a mixed feeling towards the protagonist since they will both be happy and proud of her because she has been blessed to have children like Shruthi and Arjun and sad due to her condition because of breast cancer.

Amidst all her ups and downs, her children have always been by her side, they have become brilliant at studies and have turned out to be good human beings as well…enough to make their mother happy and proud.

The difficult journey of Anusha will be an inspiration for many women who are caught in the hands of destiny and have lost all their hopes from life.

Anusha has taught us how to fight like a brave individual till the end because an end always marks a new and fresh beginning!

The story has been divided into twenty chapters with a prologue and an epilogue, each filled with optimism and hope amidst chaos.

The thoughts have been beautifully expressed by the author and the title has also been carefully chosen to give a glimpse about the story and a tinge of positivity to all the readers.

We all have to meet our destiny at some point of time in our lives, however the author has projected a particular woman’s rendezvous with destiny and she is also representing all the suffering yet strong woman around her. This book is a must read for all.
